The Colorado Plateau has always been home to some of the best white water rafting found, but in recent years, it has become more and more famous for its mountain biking events. Mountain bikers of every age and description flock here from around the globe each year to enjoy Utah’s incredible undeveloped dirt roads and trail systems. These adventurous trails will take you from the canyon rim all the way to the river bottom, meandering through a pristine wilderness landscape that can only be described as breathtaking.

WHAT’S Provided
As with all Holiday River Expedition’s trips, we provide everything you will need to have a great time including guides, meals, and vehicle support for gear and food (bicycle rental available). The bike routes are a net downhill and suitable for the athletic-beginner to the experienced rider. All gear and outfitting for our Utah mountain biking trips is of the best quality, always clean, and well-maintained. We use Specialized Mountain Bikes because of their durability and comfort and we offer a good variety of bikes to suit women, men and children of all ages and experience.
As part of your mountain biking journey, you will immensely enjoy the sights and surroundings of Moab, Utah, considered by many as an excellent area for every type of mountain biking. As the “the Mecca of mountain biking”, Moab offers stunning red rock formations along with a unique blend of national park and desert terrain to make it a favorite for bikers everywhere.
WHITE RIM TRAIL
Our White Rim Trail mountain biking adventure takes you through a land called “Island in the Sky” and then on to Mussleman Arch, Monument Basin, Turks head, Candlestick Tower, and White Crack. Some believe that this is the center of the universe and looking down from your 1,000 foot perch, you may agree. If you only take one mountain bike trip in your lifetime, this should be it! This is a 3 or 4 day, 90 mile trek for intermediate bikers, ages 12 and up.
SAN RAFAEL SWELL
Utah locals call this national treasure ‘THE SWELL’ and it’s a three thousand-foot fold of sandstone and shale along the edge of the Colorado Plateau. Back in the old days, its hidden canyons provided sanctuary to old west outlaw Butch Cassidy. Ride past abandoned mining camps and turn-of-the-century ranches. Stop to explore cowboy camps, prehistoric Indian rock art, and dinosaur prints. This is a 4-day trek of 102 miles for intermediate bikers ages 12 and up.
MAZE
The Maze in Canyonlands National Park gives mountain bikers and hikers the complete experience. This stunning place of solitude, unparalleled beauty, and clean fresh air offers some of the most challenging bike terrain you’ll find anywhere. The incredible landscape features sheer vertical uplifts and plunging gorges that are unforgettable in their beauty and splendor. This mountain biking journey is rated for experts and is a four-day 75 mile trip for ages 12 and up.
MOAB MOUNTAIN BIKE TOURS – LA SAL LOOP
In recent years, Moab, Utah has become the premier destination for mountain bikers from around the world. The La Sal Mountain loop embodies the heart-pounding style of wilderness riding that bikers dream about. Enjoy the giant ponderosa pines overlooking Fisher Valley as you descend 4,000 vertical feet to the red rock desert at Onion Creek. This two-day trip is perfect for beginner to intermediate riders and is offered to ages 12 and up.
