Moab is justifiably famous for its incredible network of mountain biking trails as well as its whitewater rafting adventures. At Holiday, we love both activities so much, we’ve designed a trip to combine our passions—and yours! Beginning in the aspen trees and meadows of the La Sal Mountains and ending in the ancient black rocks of Westwater Canyon, we think this unique combo trip is a perfect introduction to some of the less-traveled parts of Moab. And we’re not the only ones. Here’s a sampling of your comments from several seasons of Moab Bike/Raft Combo fun!

You Have to See it With Your Own Eyes

We booked this trip hoping for an extreme adventure of whitewater rafting and mountain biking. We more than got our money’s worth. The guides were all fantastic, the food was spectacular, and the overall lifelong memories that were created are not done justice by the hundreds of pictures and videos we took. We will be back.

The “Go With The Flow” Philosophy

The guides were excellent, friendly, knowledgeable, and willing to individualize our trip. Also, the food was incredible, well prepared, delicious, and ample. My best friend and I celebrated our 40th birthdays with the 4-day bike & raft trip. Going in, we had no expectations and were willing to “go with the flow”. As a result, the more we let go, the better the trip was. Taking in all the experiences was what made the trip great. Above all the river was beautiful and exhilarating and the mountain biking was top rated. It was made better by the first-rate staff and gear which was provided.

They Care About Preserving the Environment

I appreciated the patience that our guides, Bossi and Brin showed while I bicycled very slowly and stopped numerous times to take photos. Additionally, the knowledge the guides shared about the history of the area, their sense of humor, and making the trip fun. They cared about preserving the environment for the future use of native animals and tourists. I liked seeing the cave in Westwater Canyon containing old bed frames and rusted items on a table where robber brothers lived. And also petroglyphs and sheep footprints on a hiking trail. I enjoyed the different foods at every mealtime, hot cooked meals, the vegetables, the rustic cowboy coffee pots, and desserts. Not having to organize the logistics made it easier to have an adventure. I was surprised at the scenery at every turn. I saw a bald eagle for the first time in my life! The other tourists seemed caring and appreciative of the environment we were in.

Unforgettable Camping Under the Stars

“Best holiday ever!”, says my 16 year old son. The mountain biking stretched us just enough and the rafting was a terrific contrast. Camping under the stars was unforgettable. The Guides were perfect, their cooking was superb, and even the bugs were friendly! All of this was accomplished under a sustainable and responsible umbrella ethic.

Your Crew Knocked it out of the Park

To our wonderful friends at Holiday,

I feel I have to drop a quick line to express our thanks to Holiday River Expeditions for the wonderful work your people did to make our trip truly exceptional. We did the 4-day Moab Mountain Biking & Westwater Canyon Rafting Trip

It is rare these days that things exceed expectations, but your crew really knocked it out of the park. We had a fantastic time.

I would especially like to thank Sean and Julian as these guys are consummate pros. They blended the right mix of knowledge of their craft, technical skills, communication skills, and outright effort to make our trip the special long weekend that it was. I truly believe that they are tops in their field. Congratulations on finding a couple of extremely hard-working guys. They were really easy to get along with. Please let their boss know that I’ll be recommending to my network of friends and colleagues that they call you guys up to book their next vacation. I’ll also be advising them to request Sean and Julian as their guides if they can.

Thanks again for a wonderful time,

Glenn Poole

Like Bike Riding On Mars!

The trip was wonderful. The guides blew us away with their knowledge, skill, attitude and the meals they prepared… Camping will never be the same! The food far exceeded expectations, wonderful. All meals were excellent, different and I’d have paid good money for them at a restaurant. The overall experience was out of this world! At least outside of what my known world was. I felt like I was riding mountains on Mars and then whitewater rafting… Best vacation ever! The food was excellent even for the most concerned skeptics, and we were in the middle of nowhere camping.

The Combination Trips Are Incredible

The guides are extremely professional, friendly, fun, knowledgeable, and amazing chefs! I felt extremely safe having them with us. I would certainly request them for another trip. Although I know all guides at Holiday are great! The food is certainly beyond expectations; for somebody like me, it’s all healthy and organic! It couldn’t be better! I actually learned from Brin how to make amazing omelets. We had an amazing experience 16 years ago when my husband and I did the White Rim/Cataract Canyon and we were looking forward to going on a trip with our boys, 12 and 15. And so we decided to do the La Sal/Colorado trip. The boys said it was the best vacation they have ever had! It was again a great experience from every angle. Holiday is the way to go, we recommend you to everyone who enjoys the outdoors in that spectacular part of the U.S. We’ll be back, for sure!

Bottom Line, Awesome trip!

The guides were top-notch and fun to be around. The food was excellent.  Overall,  I couldn’t have been more pleased with the trip. I took my 12-year-old son along and we both had a great time. Neither of us is what you’d call in prime shape, but despite that, we were never made to feel like we were a burden when it took us a little longer to get up the hills. The scenery and the wildlife we spotted along the way made the trip to the campsite that much more enjoyable. The second day of the bike ride was a blast, as the fast downhill riding around corners and over rocks, and catching the occasional air, was more our element.

The third day on the Colorado River was a welcome relaxing ride, despite the sun, after the days of riding. Visiting the landmarks along the river was a nice break in the ride. The Outlaws Hideout was especially cool because my son had just read about the “Short Brothers” in school the previous year. The fourth day’s rapids were fun and exciting without feeling we were risking our lives, though you really do need to hold on or they’ll be fishing you out of the river. The guides were friendly, personable, encouraging, knowledgeable, and helpful. The food was great. I would even go as far as to say it rivaled food that I’ve had on Cruise ships. Bottom line, awesome trip and I’m looking forward to going back out again.
