Meet Rebecca Wildbear, MS, E-RYT 500, WFR, SRT
Rebecca Wildbear is a river and soul guide who helps people tune in to the mysteries that live within the Earth community, dreams, and their own wild Nature, so they may live a life of creative service. She has been a guide with Animas Valley Institute ~ www.animas.org ~ since 2006 and is author of the forthcoming book, Playing & Praying: Soul Stories to Inspire Personal & Planetary Transformation.
A long-time yoga teacher (since 2003) and a former faculty member at Nosara Yoga Institute (2008-2017), Rebecca created Wild Yoga™ — a practice of worship, veneration, and advocacy for Earth — while teaching yoga in a variety of wild places, including the tide pools of Costa Rica, the mountains and rivers of Colorado, and the ancient red rock canyons of Utah. Excerpts from Rebecca’s forthcoming book ~ Playing & Praying: Soul Stories to Inspire Personal & Planetary Transformation:
“Stepping into yoga is a choice to step into your body. Sometimes the first encounter is painful; perhaps the poses feel tight or embarrassing or not as you’d expected. Remember, yoga is simply the willingness and self-love to show up again and again, to put aside other responsibilities and relationships, to give the body, the being, this time… Everyone can do yoga. Yoga is about cultivating a deep and loving relationship with your body.”
“Born of the womb and returning to the dream stream every night, our consciousness is forever held in a flow. In the rapid pace of our culture, it’s easy to fall out of moving within this rhythm. And yet, when we return to the river and see it flowing freely, we observe its joy, which it offers to all whose path it crosses, bringing beauty, song, refreshment, and life.”
A 5,000 years old practice, yoga’s deepest purpose has always been to inspire the evolution of human consciousness and to bring us into greater awareness about our relationship to everything. Experience your deepest place of belonging in the natural world and re-align with your instinctual nature. Open to an intelligence far greater than your own mind, such as nature, dreams, and your imagination. As your sensibilities expand, an opportunity to have a more sincere and life-enhancing relationship with the world begins.
