on the River with Tess Challis –  Aug 30-Sept 2, 2018

Nutrition + Balance + Wellness coaching on the Colorado River through Westwater Canyon

Tess Challis
, author, vegan chef, and wellness coach, will lead this trip that’s sure to be delicious for both body and soul. Tess will bring her fifteen years of experience as a professional chef to the backcountry kitchen; preparing amazing, healthy, vegan meals each day. In the evenings, Tess will share wisdom from her own personal journeys through chronic illness and disease, to veganism and healthy living. As a wellness coach, Tess is uniquely qualified to speak about overcoming obstacles and challenges to achieve a healthy and balanced lifestyle.  Come explore the wildness of the river, the taste of gourmet backcountry cuisine, and the power of self-discovery!

Colorado River rafting doesn’t get much better than this! Our Westwater Canyon whitewater rafting trip takes us down a segment of the Colorado River that is magnificent and is often referred to as a miniature Grand Canyon. The beauty and grandeur of this section of the Colorado River offers memorable sights such as pristine beaches, charming side canyons, and beautiful campsites. And with 4 days to explore, you will have tons of time to relax, hike, or float your way through your vacation!

Westwater Canyon cuts its teeth through black-rock canyons in Southern Utah, due North East of Arches and Canyonlands National Parks.  On a three day you start in rural Colorado at the Loma boat ramp; while on a two day you start across the border in Utah from a remote ranger station. Both lead you to a take-out near the wild-west ghost town of Cisco.
