At Your Service: Holiday River Expeditions’ Hands on Approach. In 1966 Dee and his wife Sue began their careers as river outfitters and created Holiday River Expeditions. Dee’s passion for river rafting had begun a few years earlier, the very first time he was on the river. Since 1966, both Dee and Sue have spent more than 100 days each year on the river. They want every person that goes on one of their trips to feel the excitement and know of their passion for the outdoors and especially for white water rafting.
Holiday River Expeditions strives very hard to create a fun, thrilling but yet relaxing adventure for all of their customers. They believe that customer service is extremely important in today’s business (a pleasant change from most businesses these days) and they’re very willing to help you find the trip that best suits your group’s experience, age, schedule, and budget. They’re willing to answer all of your questions and respond to all of your suggestions. Sue personally reads every comment card that’s written and incorporates the good ideas and suggestions into the business.
In 2003 Holiday River Expeditions was presented the Canyonlands National Park Safety Award. At the presentation of the award Park Ranger Swanke said of the Holiday River Expeditions, “In the past decade your guides have not been directly involved in a personal injury or property damage. This is a significant accomplishment considering the conditions your company routinely operates in.” This is high praise for an outdoor adventure company. It shows the thought, preparation, training, and expertise that all of the guides have along with everyone in Holiday River Expeditions. The guides are all trained in backcountry safety and first aid and your group will be in the best hands during your rafting trip. The guides are great people as well and will keep you entertained with stories and games while you are running the river.
Holiday River Expeditions specialize in the Colorado River rafting but they also raft many other rivers in Utah and Idaho. Some of the most popular trips are down Cataract Canyon which is in the heart of Canyonlands National Park in Utah and also the Salmon River Rafting trip. The Salmon River trip is great for families. The minimum age recommendation is eight years old and this trip is bound to be a great vacation for the entire family. The Salmon River is a clear mountain river with some great rapids and white sandy beaches as well. Deer, bighorn sheep, elk, moose, bear, and eagles are often spotted during this trip.
Trust your vacation to Holiday River Expeditions and you won’t be let down. You will feel relaxed by not having to worry about food, equipment, safety, or getting lost but you will also get to experience the excitement of running white water rapids with the help of your river guide. Holiday River Expeditions will help ensure that your group or your family has the adventure of a lifetime this summer.
