The Utah river rafting trips consist of seven tours.
The San Juan River tour has warm-water rapids and Native American cultural sites. Offered every May through June, extending three to four days, this tour is perfect for beginners. Desolation Canyon is on the Green River and was once the infamous hiding place for Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. Boasting 60 rapids in an 84-mile stretch, this tour is offered May through August and is between five to six days in length.
Idaho river rafting offers two tours:
the Main and Lower Salmon River Rafting. The main tour cuts through the second deepest canyon in the United States and canvases 92 miles of rugged terrain. The lower tour winds through four canyons and is a whitewater enthusiast’s paradise.
Four of the tours above – the San Juan River, lower Salmon River, Lodore Canyon, and Desolation Canyon – are family-friendly and make excellent family vacation getaways. Outstanding youth group trips are the San Juan River, Green River, Fish Towers Canyon, Desolation Canyon, and Colorado River.
Holiday River Expeditions offers four mountain bike tours.
The White Rim Trail Mountain is the trip of a lifetime and highlights the Mussleman Arch, Turks Head, Candlestick Tower, Monument Basin, and White Crack. San Rafael Swell is a 3,000-foot sandstone and shale swell on the Colorado Plateau and once was a protected hideout for Butch Cassidy. The Maze winds through Canyonlands National Park with vertical cliffs and gorges. Moab’s LaSal Mountains provide stunning views that overlook Fisher Valley and include a 4,000-foot vertical descent.
Offering five multi-sport tours, combining rafting and mountain biking, the following tours are available: White Rim Trail Mountain and Cataract Canyon; Yampa Bench; Westwater and Tavaputs Ranch; Moab Mountain and Westwater; and Desolation Canyon and Tavaputs Ranch.
There are six Women’s River Retreats offered which include two on the San Juan River, Lower Salmon, Main Salmon River Rafting, the Green River through Desolation Canyon, and Lodore Canyon.
The specialty expeditions include Lodore Canyon’s full moon trip, Cataract Canyon’s full moon trip and the extended fall hike through Cataract Canyon and Green River. A Kayaking workshop, Birding trip with birding expert Bill Fenimore Jr, a Yoga & Writing workshop and a Fall extended hiking/rafting trip in Canyonlands National Park.
There are four Baja trips.
The whale watching and kayaking trip explores the Sea of Cortez’s marine park. The island hopping tour explores the uninhabited desert islands that mark the Sea of Cortez. The Espiritu Santo Island tour is perfect for advanced sea kayakers and includes breathtaking snorkel locations and white sandy beaches. The Baja coast tour is a remote sea kayaking tour in warm southern waters.
All river rafting trips include meals and depending upon the excursion, gear is available upon request for an additional price.
