Now that I am back at work my thoughts concerning my recent river trip seem to be more of a distant memory. However, though the memories may seem distant, the experience has not faded.

In connection with my son's recent 12th birthday and elementary school graduation I took him on a "father and son" trip to Colorado and Utah to see and appreciate parts of this country other than Disney world or amusement parks. The highlight and anticipation of the trip was our Westwater Canyon trip from July 10th through the 12th. (I must admit that I had never done anything like this before and had conveniently used my son's birthday and graduation as an excuse to sneak away and experience the river).

No words can adequately describe the impact on one's senses from the great vistas and natural splendor to the contrasting quiet of the calm river and roar of the rapids. Of all the images and recollections, one that will always stand out in my mind is the look of excitement and thrill (as well as anticipation and anxiety) on my son's face just as we entered the beginning of the rapids.

But all of this would not have been possible or as memorable if it were not for the attention and care that were shown to us by our guides. Aside from their extremely impressive river and camping skills, they made Holiday's expedition an experience that was both unique and among the best of times. You should be extremely proud of how they represented Holiday Expeditions and, if anybody ever thinks of doing anything like this, I would, without hesitation, tell them to use your company.
