Respect for the wilderness. That's why we use oars on our rafts, never outboard motors. Seems to us that rushing to get there is exactly what you took a vacation to get away from. We are also trying to get away from any impact we might have on the wilderness areas we visit. After all, we are visitors so we do our best to make sure we leave no foot prints. Dee is responsible for developing many of the "Leave No Trace" practices required by all of the land management agencies and all of our guides bring their own respect and contributions to conserving the river and trail ways in Utah and Idaho. Back at the office and at our headquarters, we also take extra steps to recycle, reuse and conserve resources.

Our commitment to the environment has also been noticed by groups like the The Nature Conservancy, Sierra Club, Cloud Ridge Naturalists and Audubon. Every year we take these groups' members and supporters down the rivers of Utah to truly understand the precious resources that are cradled in the river systems.

In fact, our commitment is so great, Holiday's mission statement is more like a pledge to the environment:

It is the goal of Holiday Expeditions to preserve our nation's wild lands. Holiday will provide our guests an enjoyable wilderness experience with an opportunity to learn about the natural world, and through this awareness encourage the preservation of wild places and cultural treasures. We will accomplish this through: Diligent Training; Meaningful Interpretation; Innovative Equipment & Facilities; Responsible Stewardship of the Land; and Environmentally Sound Business Practice.
